About The 435 Weekend
Hi, I’m EJ.
I’m EJ Leaveck. I own Force 5 Development, a software company in Swanton, Ohio. I moved to the Whitehouse area in 2023, but I’m a lifetime Midwesterner. We’re Anthony Wayne Generals now.
Why I made this
This area is full of small communities and an exceptional amount of fun things to do. People are friendly and active. Finding those things, though, can mean scouring Facebook groups, searching city and township websites, or simply having driven past the right sign.
I created The 435 Weekend to gather that information into one spot. You shouldn’t have to keep up with every social group to go out, have fun, support the local community, and generally be involved.
The “435” comes from the ZIP codes beginning with those three digits, generally west of Toledo in Northwest Ohio.
What makes the list?
There isn’t a strict definition, but the focus is on a specific event or something to go and do, rather than general business adverts or specials.
For example, I wouldn’t list every golf course—you can search for golf on Google. But if Valleywood Golf Club has a special scramble, fundraiser, or charity event, that’s the kind of activity I’d consider listing.
We check the basics against official sources and link you to the organizer for full details, registration, and the latest updates.
435 Picks
A 435 pick is something I find personally interesting. It’s obviously biased toward my own personality and likes. Take it with a grain of salt :)
I’d like to add some other picks over time, such as “teenager approved”—by virtue of what my daughter thinks is cool.
Promotions work like a sponsored spot, but right now I personally select the events I want to place at the top.
If you’re an organizer, you can request promotion. For the time being, it’s completely free, and I’ll do my best to triage requests.
Any future paid promotions will be clearly labeled. I’d only introduce them if the cost of running the site grows beyond what I’m willing to pay myself.
